Hudson County Community College Names Matthew LaBrake Executive Director of Center for Online Learning

Mr. LaBrake received his Master of Science degree in Information Science, and his Bachelor of Arts in Information Science and Technology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. He served the last two years as Co-chair of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Distance and Online Learning Section Instruction Committee, and has served as a member of the United States Distance Learning Association Conference Planning Committee. Mr. LaBrake currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the newly launched Global Online Learning Development and Extended Network (GOLDEN).

Mr. LaBrake comes to HCCC from Berkeley College of New York/New Jersey and Online Campuses where he served in a variety of roles, including Senior Director of Digital Support Services, Senior Director of Online Library and Technology Services, and Director of Online Library. He was also a member of the Berkeley faculty at the Larry L. Luing School of Business, and Chair of the Faculty Technology Review Committee.

Before joining the staff at Berkeley, Mr. LaBrake was the School Library Media and Training Specialist for the Dutchess County Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Mr. LaBrake said.

HCCC offers more than 100 courses, and nine fully online degree programs, in seven- and fifteen-week formats. Credits transfer seamlessly to colleges and universities across New Jersey and nationwide. Fully online programs include Associate of Science in Accounting, Associate of Science in Business Administration, Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, Associate of Science in Health Services, Associate of Applied Science in Health Sciences, Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts – History, Associate of Arts in English, Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts – General, and Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts – Psychology.
