The HCCC Department of Cultural Affairs’ monthly community interview series titled – “These are the People in Your Neighborhood…” – features creative individuals from diverse industries sharing their personal stories of growth and success. DOCA Director Michelle Vitale will interview Angus Vail, founder of Container Globe via Webex on Friday, December 4 at 6 p.m. A New Zealand native who resides in Jersey City, Mr. Vail has been a business manager for internationally renowned rock bands, including INXS, 3 Doors Down, and KISS for more than 30 years. He combined his passion for rock n’ roll with his love of Shakespeare to design a futuristic venue and constructed it from repurposed shipping containers and building materials as a pop-up setting for dance, theater, and music events. The “Container Globe” modular, mobile theater is modeled after Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, which was built around 400 years ago.

The HCCC Department of Cultural Affairs, in coordination with community partners, offers monthly, virtual programs to promote wellness and inspire young artists. Jamie Wilson-Murray of Mindful Play Yoga will lead “Wellness Wednesday” on December 9 at 10 a.m. utilizing the “I Am Amazing” theme at www.facebook.com/mindfulplayyoga. Kristin DeAngelis will teach the Young Masters Art Class for children and families on Friday, December 11 at 10 a.m. at www.facebook.com/youngmastersartclass. This month, participants will create a dinner party place setting using watercolors, colored pencils, and crayons.
