CITY OF JERSEY CITY TO HOST THE FOURTH ANNUAL “Made in Jersey City Day” on Monday, June 18th

  This year’s event, ‘The Delectable Dish’ will feature signature dishes from thirty Jersey City restaurants

 

JERSEY CITY –Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation and the Jersey City Urban Enterprise Zone program will continue a proud tradition by celebrating the Fourth Annual Made in Jersey City Day from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 18, at City Hall, 280 Grove Street.

The event, aptly called

“The Delectable Dish,” will showcase the restaurants, cafes and bistros whose dedication to quality, innovation and diversity have made Jersey City a mecca for foodies the world over.

Restaurants and eateries from all around the city have been invited to participate by displaying and providing samples of their signature dishes in the Rotunda and Council Chambers. Area residents and workers are invited to visit the event and to sample and/or purchase some of the products.

“Our small businesses, such as our restaurants, are the backbone of our economy and that is why each year we showcase local businesses at our Made in Jersey City Day event,” said Mayor Healy. “We want all of our residents, visitors, and those who work here in Jersey City, to support our local small business owners every day.”

Mayor Healy said the participating restaurants — which are located all throughout Jersey City — are representative of the diversity of the City’s residents.

Participants include: Amiya Contemporary Indian Cuisine, Angel Azul, Boca Grande Cantina Mexicana, The Brightside Tavern, D&D Café and Grill, Delenio, Delicias de Puerto Rico Restaurante, GP’s, Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill, Hard Grove Café, Henry’s on the Hudson, Honey Bakery, Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts Institute, The Iron Monkey, Light Rail Café, Los Tres Chilitos, Made with Love Artisan Bakery & Café, Max’s Restaurant, The New Steak and Take, Pizza Alla Gargiulo, Rita & Joe’s Fine Italian Restaurant, Robalino’s Restaurant, Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, Satis Bistro• Café•Wine Bar, Soul Flavors, Sushi Tango, Taj Mahal Romance in Dining, Tommy 2 Scoops, VB3, and Vu.

“We are very proud of all of the restaurants and eateries here in Jersey City,” said Mayor Healy. “We hope all of our residents and workers will drop in and sample some of the delicious cuisine the participants will be bringing with them.”
