Master Kenny Brown, Hanshi 9th Dan Ralph D. Passero, President Don Nagle’s  AOKA, and Black Belt Denzel Arlington, 2012 Don Nagle World Open Free Style  Fighting Grand champion of the Don Nagle World Open Karate Championship, held at  Marist High School, Bayonne NJ. and Master Sensei, and owner of Kedar’s Martial  Arts School,  Tyrone Arlington,      Denzel victoriously defended his 2011 title against Master Kenny Brown,representing Grandmaster Isaac Henry’s BKG Shool, an excellent fighter challenging every movement of Denzel, and was out pointed by one point after a  nine minute match, that was the high light of the days events. Master Kenny Brown, had defeated all the 1st place,  winners of the day before he earned the right to challenge the defending Grandchampion.

Don Nagle’s 2011American Okinawan Karate Assn, Inc, World Open Karate Championship, Bayonne New Jersey. This event is hosted by 9th Dan Dennis Hoare, Senior instructor of Don Nagle’s Karate in JC, and Shihan Rick Norris 8th Dan, also representing Don Nagle, and is the senior student of Shihan Dale Jenkins. Jersey City Armory to play host to Jersey City’s own Pro team The Jersey Express

jersey-express-again The Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team, is proud to call Jersey City home! The Express will be playing its home games at the National Guard Jersey City Armory, located at 678 Montgomery Street, for the upcoming American Basketball Association (ABA) Season.

Jersey City’s own; Terry Dehere, former player for St. Anthony’s High School, Seton Hall University, and an NBA 1st round draft pick of the LA Clippers, takes over as Head Coach. Luther Wright, former Seton Hall star and 1st round draft pick of the Utah Jazz, acts as Big Man Coach. For those players looking to go overseas, or maybe even have aspirations on playing in the NBA, here’s an opportunity to play for those who have been…where you want to go! Player instruction and exposure will be at its highest.

Newark Bears Bring Ozzie Canseco Back

The RHP Returns To Affiliated Baseball

              Newark, N.J. (August 22, 2011):      

            The Newark Bears bring home Ozzie Canseco, former Major League Baseball player and the identical twin brother of former Major League Baseball player José Canseco, back to Newark to coach the rest of this season.

Canseco played with the Newark Bears where he hit 48 home runs in 2000 and was named Atlantic League Player of the Year.

Only a few weeks left of the season, Canseco is sure to join the new owner’s mission to improve the brand and to add more surprises that fans will love.

Muller’s Rockets Hockey Team wins Ice House Championship

muller-hockey-photo-2Hoboken, NJ) Hoboken can boast about a lot of things – it’s the birthplace of Frank Sinatra and the first baseball game ever played was in Hoboken – and now Hoboken celebrates another outstanding achievement, Muller’s Hoboken Rockets hockey team’s 2010 Ice House Championship won by an outstanding team of local residents from many walks of life.

 Roger J. Muller, Jr. of Muller Insurance serves as team captain who led Muller’s Hoboken Rockets to win First Place in the 2010 Level 8 Ice House Championship  with 7-wins, 1-tie and 0-losses. The Muller-Rockets is one of six hockey teams Roger J. Muller, Jr. runs and he often interchanges and overlaps players to offer them more playing opportunities. They, in turn, win championships. Muller proudly displays the 2010 championship trophy in his Muller’s Insurance office at 930 Washington Street in Hoboken, where it holds a place of honor next to the 50 other hockey trophies Muller’s hockey teams have won since he founded the teams twenty years ago. HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS TAKE THEIR NEW 4-POINT SHOT TO HUDSON RIVER

USING PAIR OF CIRCLE LINE SIGHTSEEING SHIPS, GLOBETROTTERS ATTEMPTED HISTORIC SHOTS OVER WATER WITH LOCAL STUDENTS CHEERING ON
         This past  Tuesday, February 15 at 11 a.m.With two basketball hoops placed on one Circle Line Sightseeing ship on the Hudson River, Harlem Globetrotters Big Easy Lofton and Buckets Blakes  boarded a second ship and attempt the first 4-point shots over water.  

harlem-globtrotter-and-kidsElementary school students from nearby PS 111  cheered on the shooting exhibition followed by a Circle Line cruise with the Globetrotters.  Aboard the boat, Big Easy and Buckets gave a motivational presentation while incorporating the Globetrotters’ signature moves. LA LAKERS WIN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP DEFEATING BOSTON CELTICS 83-79 in Game 7

The LA Lakers won thier 5th NBA Championship in 11 seasons by defeating the  BKN-NBA-FINAL-LAKERS–CELTICSBoston Celtics. The Lakers came back from a fourth quarter deficit beating the Boston Celtics 83-79 to win the NBA Championship. In front of the hometown crowd packed with regulars and movie stars Kobe Bryant scored 23 points and Ron Artest added another 20 points to give  the Lakers the championship.

Former NBA Player John Celestand Joins MSG Varsity

celestandphotoFormer NBA player John Celestand has come back to his New Jersey roots, as a Garden State basketball play-by-play announcer for MSG Varsity. Celestand (on right) is pictured with fellow sports producer Lou Brogno.

 

BETHPAGE, N.Y., January 25, 2010 – John Celestand, former NBA player and member of the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship team in 2000, has come back to his New Jersey roots, as a Garden State basketball play-by-play announcer for MSG Varsity.

 Celestand, an alumnus of Piscataway High School, helped lead the Chiefs to two consecutive County Championships. He went on to play at Villanova University scoring, 227 points in 124 career games from 1995-99. He was drafted in the second round of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Lakers.
