The exhibition will include a working Rubik’s Cube made from $2.5 million worth of diamonds; elaborate Cube artwork; Cube-solving robots; virtual reality simulations of Cubes that aren’t really there; a glowing 35-foot-tall Rubik’s Cube that can be manipulated by anyone with an Internet connection; and a tiny nanoscale Cube.

Google will be the creative partner of the Rubik’s Cube Exhibition and will join LSC in presenting a stunning digital and in-person experience. “At Google, we are all about tackling tough challenges with as much accuracy and speed as possible,” said Lorraine Twohill, head of Global Marketing at Google. “The Rubik’s Cube embodies this drive, encouraging people around the world to try their hand at one of the world’s most iconic toys. New Jersey State Senator & Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack and and Commissioner Lucio Fernandez honor author Jon D’Amore at special readingof his book “The Boss Always Sits in the Back” at Willian V. Musto Cultural Center in Union City.

Jon D’Amore was honored as a former Hudson County resident who went on to Author a book that will be read by many people across the country and in the world.

Seated Author and former Hudson County resident Jon D’Amore signs copies of his book “The Boss Alway’s Sits in the Back” for Union City Police commissioner, Lucio P. Fernandez; Mayor Brian Stack; & Police Chief, Brian Barrett in Union City on May 24th, 2012

Jon D’Amore is a New Jersey native who grewup ‘connected’ to the Mob. Though not directly involved himself, Jon’s father and cousin/ godfather Jerry were affiliated with the Mob. On his 22nd birthday, Jerry invited Jon to Las Vegas to be a part of the biggest scam to ever hit the city. Over the course of two years they funneled millions of dollars out of Las Vegas casinos and into the New Jersey Mob. Upon its exposure, this scam changed gambling legislation across the United States.

Later, when the Mob ‘boss’ was facing a 40-year federal prison sentence, Jon was able to use his musical knowledge of audio recording equipment to prove that the prosecution had tampered with evidence. This led to the acquittal and removal of all charges for ‘the boss’, leaving Jon a hero to the inner circle.

In“The Boss Always Sits in the Back,”Jon gives a true account of events that he personally witnessed. His multi-dimensional take on the Mob and exploration of family relationships give this book wide appeal and lasting relevancy. Jon does not shy away from giving details of a rather perilous occupation. However, he simultaneously breathes life into a group of people that have been stereotyped and speculated on for decades.
