Liberty State Park is currently closed and these photos show the impact Sandy had on the popular New Jersey travel destination for thousands of people each year.

Hudson County Community College to Hold Gala Fundraiser on December 6

November 29, 2012, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College Foundation will hold the largest and most festive of its annual fundraisers — the 15th Annual Holiday Gala — at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 6, 2012 at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center ‑ 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to scholarships for deserving students, faculty development programs, and the College’s physical expansion.

Hudson County Community College Vice President for Development Joseph Sansone said that PSE&G will be the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes organizations and individuals for their work on behalf of the College and the people of Hudson County. “The Junction” Project in Jersey City -Grand Opening Ceremony

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy will conduct a grand opening ceremony for “The Junction” project at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 29th at the intersections of Communipaw, Garfield, Summit, Randolph and Arlington Avenues. The project incorporates many benefits to the local community by enhancing the travel experience, creating new open space, improving pedestrian and bicycle safety, and promoting smart growth.

Hoboken’s PATH Station Will Remain Closed for Now- The Only PATH Station Not In Use

While there was good news for commuters of the The World Trade Center PATH line which opened this past Monday with stops in New Jersey’s Newark, Harrison, Journal Square, Grove Street and Exchange Place and New York’s World Trade Center stations; for North Hudson residents who would normally take the PATH to New York via Hoboken the news was not so good.

Jersey City: Mayor Healy Announces Two-Hour Free Parking in Municipal Lots for Holiday Shopping

 JERSEY CITY– Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and the Jersey City Parking Authority announce that there will be FREE parking for two-hours in the municipal lots within the five Special Improvement Districts from Saturday, December 1, 2012 through Wednesday, January 2, 2013 to encourage local shopping this holiday season. Tree-Lighting and Santa Claus Scheduled fo Bayonne’sr Fitzpatrick Park, Monday, December 3

            Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the City of Bayonne will hold its annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Fitzpatrick Park on Monday, December 3, at 4:30 p.m.  The park is located on Avenue C, between 26th and 27th Streets.

City of Bayonne -Free Parking in Lots in December for Non-Commercial Vehicles

           Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that there will be free parking for the entire month of December in all Bayonne Parking Utility lots for non-commercial vehicles.  The program will be in effect through Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Parking charges in the lots will resume for non-commercial vehicles on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. The Mayor said, “The free parking program will encourage people to visit Bayonne and do their holiday shopping in local stores.”  Smith thanked the Bayonne Parking Utility for supporting the annual free parking policy again this year.  He said, “I would like to commend the Parking Utility for offering free parking again to non-commercial vehicles in the lots during the 2012 holiday season.” Smith continued, “I would like to encourage everyone who lives or works in Bayonne to spread the word about this holiday season parking lot program.” Continue reading City of Bayonne -Free Parking in Lots in December for Non-Commercial Vehicles
